This plant is one that the late Wally Berg and I collected in Costa Rica back in the 1990s. It is a nice form of Tillandsia fasciculata v. fasciculata with an open rosette shape of narrow, stiff leaves to about 20 inches across and a nice inflorescence with a cluster of yellowish branches. This plant came from the region of Alajuela and was collected from the side of a palm growing in the median strip of the road. It had a bloom which attracted us, but the foliage was completely black from the soot of diesel exhaust. Of course now, after many years of cultivation, they are perfect.
