Pitcairnia echinata ‘Streaker’

Out of Stock

An interesting variegated form of the species that originated in Venezuela. Kind of typical in shape; bulbous base and wide, grassy leaves. The inflorescence is a branched panicle with unusual red flowers bearing ‘wooly’ sepals. The sepals are covered with small tubercles giving a sort of ‘hairy’ appearance. The most striking feature of this plant though is variegated foliage. Not many variegated forms of Pitcairnia exist. A vigorous grower with very stable variegation. Deciduous foliage.
