Neoregelia ‘Dorothy Howson’

A cultivar of (I-X x ‘Avalon’) by RL Frasier. A 24in rosette of 3.25 inch wide leaves, apple green leaves bearing bold, half-inch wide white marginal variegation and minimal spines. Random markings and concentric banding of purple are found across the leaf, heavier towards the center. The cup flush at anthesis is very wide and of the deepest purple. When not blooming, it is a clean white and green plant. Named in honor of Dorothy Howson, Bahamian bromeliad grower and promoter.
