Out of Stock

A fascinating caudiciform from Texas and Northeastern Mexico with a caudex that reaches the size and shape of a cantaloupe. Largely subterranean in the wild, it is usually grown with the caudex fully exposed above the soil in cultivation. A short twisted stem grows in the spring and sports graceful feathery leaves and red to pink flowers. In fall the leaves and stem die off and the plants become dormant. Enjoys moderate watering in the growing season and a dry rest when dormant.
