Cryptanthus cf. beuckeri ‘Rusty Spoon’ SEL1987-3E3 Espirito Santo

Out of Stock

Found as a sport of a plant collected by Robert Kautsky in Espirito Santo, Brazil, this cultivar of what possibly may be the species beuckeri or a within a related complex has petioled lanceolate, spoon-shaped, leaves.  The dull green leaves become marmorated with red as they mature.  The coloring is redder in low light, and more orange-red, “rusty,” in brighter light.  The leaves are edged with definite spines, almost eyelash like in appearance, and are lightly covered underneath with a lineated scurf.
