Aechmea rubrolilacina

Out of Stock

A fairly new species from Espirito Santo, Brazil that blurs the distinction between Aechmea and Portea. The kind of plant taxonomists don’t like because it isn’t really a snug fit in either genus. This handsome plant is a rather large grower with fairly wide, heavily armed leaves and an interesting inflorescence of mostly red branches and bracts, green ovaries and lilac petals. Excellent as a landscape plant.
