Tillandsia aeranthos With its clumping habit, brilliant rose bracts and inky blue flowers is a gem of the Tillandsia world. Tolerant of some cold. Beautiful and undemanding.

Tillandsia Califano (baileyi x ionantha) A cute 3in bottle-shaped miniature. The inflorescence is a short simple scape with purple flowers and a pinkish flush. A Mulford Foster hybrid which also occurs naturally in northern Mexico. A clumping plant that grows easily, best suited for mounting.

Tillandsia caput-medusae The name means 'head of Medusa'. It has silvery, twisty leaves and a bulbous base. The nice red inflorescence. Weird, but easy to grow.

Tillandsia fasciculata A Central American form with stiff greenish gray leaves in an upright rosette and a simple to branched spike of red, yellow or orange. Nice for mounting and will survive outdoors in Florida.

Tillandsia filifolia A tropical jewel from Central America, has needle-fine 3in leaves of red-tinted green on a base the size of a jaw breaker. Delicate lilac flowers are borne on a branched purple inflorescence.
