	*Cattleya schilleriana* A miniature growing Brazilian species with mahogany and green 3-4in flowers with a big bluish-purple lip. 	Cattleya trianaei The beautiful national flower of Colombia and maybe the most popular of all Cattleya species, though it is now hard to find. A winter bloomer with variable large, well shaped 8in fragrant flowers that range from purple to white with a deep purple lip and yellow throat, easily lasting 4 to 5 weeks. 	*Dendrobium lindleyi (aggregatum)* Plants with short, fat little pseudobulbs are really spectacular when well flowered, and that's not too hard to do. Plants skirt themselves pendant clusters of bright yellow flowers in mid-spring. The flowers usually take up more space than the plant when in full bloom. Likes lots of food and water after blooming until fall, then neglect them - cool temps, little water, no fertilizer. Keep the light bright year round. 	*Encyclia cordigera alba 'C.G.E.' x Enc. cordigera rosea 'Colombia'* This plant is a classic because it’s a compact grower that gives foot long spikes with several very fragrant flowers. It blooms from the end of winter to beginning of spring. This plant is a cross of rosea and an alba form, producing a less common "Randy" type with its contrasting colors. 	*Epidendrum stamfordianum alba ’Gene’* A showy warm growing species that is found from Mexico to Venezuela in seasonally dry forests. It grows to nearly two feet tall with unusual pseudobulbs that are constricted towards the base (fusiform). The fragrant flowers, borne on large panicles produced laterally, are very showy with greenish petals and an unusual winged white lip. Grows well mounted and enjoys a winter rest. 	*Schomburgkia undulata* A very handsome species with a dramatic flowering scape. Native to Colombia and Venezuela where it grows mostly on rocks in full sun. Clusters of 2in flowers have wavy or undulating sepals and petals, deep purplish-brown with a violet-red lip. Culture is like that of a Cattleya, bright and airy. Plants thrive mounted. 	*Schomburgkia wallisii* A rarity in cultivation is also a plant of mystery. No one is sure of its true range or origin, but one fact all can agree on, it is a beauty!
