‘Bromeliad Mythology’ Still under construction.

Some of you may have noticed that there was only one Cargo Report out during all of 2006. In case you were wondering what we were up to if not publishing catalogs, the above picture is part of the story.

The Tropiflora team was most fortunate to be invited to participate in the first Singapore Garden Festival, held this past December 10th through the 25th in Singapore. The show itself was fabulous with participants from sixteen nations and dozens of wonderful exhibits.

Our exhibit, in the Fantasy Division, was designed by well known landscape architect Jun-ichi Inada from Osaka, Japan. Our international team consisted of over a dozen people, Linda, Brian and I from Tropiflora, Jun-ichi and Eri Imose from Japan and Alwyn Tan, a landscape designer from Singapore and his crew. Months of preparations, many days of construction and tons of supplies, including two and a half tons of bromeliads shipped from Tropiflora were needed to complete the job. The results were a silver award in our division, much pride in accomplishment and some new friends for life.
