Tillandsia
propagulifera
From northern Peru,
the name refers to its habit of producing a profusion of offsets on its
inflorescence. Growing on rocks and cacti, this species has many narrow,
gray-green leaves forming a graceful upright rosette about 24in tall.
The inflorescence is very tall with many braches, deep purple going
green towards the tips with purple flowers. As it matures it begins to
produce a large number of small plantlets. A real oddity. Young plants

Cryptanthus warasii
This is
the Holy Grail of Cryptanthus, still very rare after having been
in cultivation for over 20 years. At first glance, this magnificent
plant from Brazil more closely resembles an Orthophytum, Dyckia
or other terrestrial bromeliad than any typical Cryptanthus. A
slow grower that has stiff, sharply recurving, silvery leaves with very
large marginal spines. The foliage bears the impressions of other
leaves, forming a diamond-like pattern down the leaf centers. $50.00
