Brocchinia reducta From an obscure genus of bromeliads native to the Venezuelan 'Lost World'. Has been discovered to be a carnivorous plant. The strictly upright tubular growth forms a tight seal (when grown hard) that holds the tank full of water into which enzymes have been secreted. The mouth of the tube is narrow and the interior waxy to prevent the escape of any insect that may fall in. Not bad looking either, with a glaucous gray-green tube of leaves lightly striated with light green lines and whitish margins. Very rare in cultivation. Grow moist in acidic soil. Sphagnum works well. 15 almost mature plants on hand,
