A brilliantly white margined form of Neo. compacta. A stoloniferous plant to 20 inches or so, light green, blushing brilliant red in the center when in bloom. Great for direct mounting in trees in subtropical locations or for a really different hanging basket subject. Once very rare and very expensive, it is nothing if not prolific.

Neoregelia 'Rio Ocher' x olens 'Vulcan'
1724
An as yet unnamed cross of Neoregelia ‘Rio Ocher’ x olens ‘Vulcan’ is an apple green plant with a vivid red center flush at anthesis. The inch and a half wide leaves are somewhat thick and leathery and the marginal spines are small. It develops some red cross-banding on the leaves which become more pronounced with strong light or when grown “harder”. Offsets are on short stolons and the plant is good for mounting and for terrarium use.
Neoregelia 'Yin'
1561
A clone of (carolinae x carcharodon). A handsome Chester Skotak hybrid. A wide leaved beauty in a rather massive rosette to over 30 inches across has much character. A great shape, gracefully arching, rose tinted leaves with nice large but not sharp spines and bold, wide white margins make this a popular choice for container or landscape. Over the years several clones have come about, but this one is the original, and best clone.
